1Q) What about Ancient Greek culture & values is reflected in their beliefs towards the underworld?

1A)  Ancient Greek values reflect onto their beliefs towards the underworld because they believe that values were built on honor, something that is considered honorable would be being a warrior, not just any warrior but a warrior that put there life down without a second thought and fought till the end.

2Q) Do you recognize any similarities between the Greek's beliefs towards death and the underworld and those which are held in your own religion?

2A) I see a  similarity and at the same time a see a difference between the Greek belief of the under world and the Catholic belief of heaven and hell , the similarity being that they both have a place or "last destination" when they pass. The difference between the two beliefs would be that the Greeks believed that whether or not the person was "good" or "bad" they would still go to the underworld      (which was ruled by hades and his queen Persephone). When on the other hand Catholics believe that it depends on how the person acted in there lifetime that choses whether they are going to heaven or hell.

3Q) The Journey of the soul is described to be an elaborate process, why do you think that is? Why can't it be more simple?

3A) I believe that an "elaborate process" means that the journey that a soul goes though is a long and difficult process. I think that the reason that the journey of a soul is not a simple process it because the soul has all the time in the world to finish the process.

4Q) Looking back (to The Epic of Gilgamesh) this will be the 2nd text in which the protagonist journey to the underworld to confront death, why do you think that the  hero "needs" to visit the underworld?

4A) I think that the hero has the visit that underworld to face his/her fear of death and in facing the fear of death they also gain a confidence boost and more courage to defeat their enemy.
